Swiss Heavy Vehicles Fee changes

29.08.2016
As per Federal Council decision, the Swiss Heavy Vehicles Fee (LSVA) will be changed as of 1.1.2017 in order to encourage road users passing through Switzerland to switch from road to rail once the Gotthard Base Tunnel has been opened. According to the decision, the LSVA will not be increased but adjusted in line with the various Euro standards. The current discount of 10 percent for EURO Standard 6 vehicles will no longer apply.
The change in grading of EURO 3, 4 and 5 vehicles, and allocating them to the more expensive fee category and the discontinuation of the discount for EURO standard 6 vehicles, means that the LSVA fee will increase by up to 18 percent.
Due to the increase in LSVA, Nauta's rates and special fees will be adjusted by at least 2% with effect from January 1 as we are unable to compensate for and absorb these additional costs.
Nauta will publish its rates for 2017 in the next couple of weeks. We will announce any additional developments related to the increase in LSVA on this page. Nauta SA will furthermore be happy to answer any questions you might have in this regard.
